Education
The Monroe Soil and Water Conservation District offers a variety of education assistance in the field of natural resources. Our programs focus on a variety of age ranges, from preschool to post-secondary, and cover a variety of topics, including soils, water quality, wildlife, forestry, and the environment.

Elementary and High School Programs
- 5th Grade Field Day – Held each May at the Monroe County Fairgrounds
- Envirothon – Annual competitive academic, outdoor team event for high school students
- Skyvue Outdoor Classroom – Involved with the creation along with the students, teachers and administration
- Project Wet
- Project Wild
- Project Learning Tree
- Growing Up Wild
In addition, the MSWCD offers grants to teachers who request funding to educate themselves or their students on conservation issues.
Teachers can contact our office for recommendations on specific lessons they are looking to teach.

Post Secondary and Adult Education
- Scholarships – Available to youth of Monroe County pursuing a degree in an agricultural related field
